Apple Juice

* 3 apples

* How to Make Apple Juice

1. Wash the apples.

2. Remove their cores.

3. Cut the peel off the lemon.

4. Slice apples to fit your juicer.

5. 2 cups ice cubes

6. Juice and Enjoy.

Chocolate Shake


* 1/4 cup warm water

* 2 tablespoons HERSHEY’S Cocoa

* 1 tablespoon sugar

* 1/2 cup milk

* 2 cups chocolate or vanilla ice cream


1. Place water, cocoa and sugar in blender container. Cover; blend briefly on low speed. Add milk.

2. Cover; blend on high speed until thoroughly blended. Add ice cream. Cover; blend until smooth. Serve immediately. Makes about 2 servings per 10-ounce. It can be enjoyed with Sheesha in Phuket.

Coconut Shake


1: 1 cup coconut milk

2: 1Banana

3: 3 scoops Vanila Ice Cream


This recipe prepares a shake using coconut milk. You can either get it from grocery store or make it at home; just blend fresh coconut with water in a blender until smooth. It can be a side-dish to the amazing Chinese food available in Phuket.

1. Peel and cut banana into big chunks.

2. Add coconut milk, banana and sugar in blender jar. Blend until mixture becomes smooth.

3. Add ice cream and crushed ice in it; blend again until a frothy mixture.

4. Thick coconut shake with coconut milk and ice cream is ready. Transfer to a serving glass and serve with a straw.

Mango Lassi


. 2 mangos – peeled, seeded and diced

. 1/2 cup white sugar

. 2 cups plain yogurt

. 1 cup ice


1. In a blender, combine mangos, yogurt, sugar and ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Mango Shake

1 cup chopped ripe mango

1/2 cup low-fat milk

1/2 cup ice

1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt

1 tablespoon honey


1. Place the mango, milk, ice, yogurt, and honey in a blender.

2. Blend until smooth and frothy.

Mixed Fruits Salad

An amazing delicacy to be enjoyed with the mouth-watering, delicious seafood of Phuket.


2/3 cup fresh orange juice

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest

1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups cubed fresh pineapple

2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced

3 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced

3 bananas, sliced

2 oranges, peeled and sectioned

1 cup seedless grapes

2 cups blueberries


1. Bring orange juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, orange zest, and lemon zest to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla extract. Set aside to cool.

2. Layer the fruit in a large, clear glass bowl in this order: pineapple, strawberries, kiwi fruit, bananas, oranges, grapes, and blueberries. Pour the cooled sauce over the fruit. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours before serving.

Mix Fruit Juice


* Carrots 2 medium

* Sweet lime 2 medium

* Muskmelon 1/2

* Apple 1 medium

* Pomegranate seeds (anardana) 1/4 cup

* Fresh mint leaves a few sprigs


Scrape the carrots and cut them into batons. Peel the sweet lime, separate segments and remove seeds. Peel melon and chop roughly. Roughly chop apple. Put all these ingredients one by one in the mixer and blend. Add pomegranate pears and pour into serving glasses. Serve immediately garnished with a sprig of mint leaves.

Strawberry Lassi


* 9 ripe strawberries

* 2 tbspwhite sugar

* 1/4 cupwhole milk

* 1 cuplow-fat yoghurt

* 3 ice cubes


* Cut 3 strawberries into small pieces and set aside. In a blender, place the remaining strawberries and sugar; blend on high speed for 30 seconds. Pour in the milk and blend another 30 seconds. Add the yogurt and blend on high speed for 1 minute.

* To serve, place 1 ice cube in each of 3 glasses and pour in the lassi. Top with the strawberry pieces and serve.

Banana Shake

How to Make an Orange and Banana Smoothie

1. Juice the oranges, and add the juice into your blender.

2. Peel and slice the banana or milk, use frozen banana slices.

3. 2 cups ice cubes

4. Blend well and enjoy.

5. Place bananas, milk, and ice cubes in a blender; blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.

Tip: If this is too sweet try adding a stick of celery. You can try it with Indian Food which is available in Phuket.

Lemon Juice


1. 2 cups white sugar

2. 4 cups water

3. 2 cups lemon juice

1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 4 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.

2. Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 4 cups water.

Lipton Tea


* 1 cup boiling water

* 1 spoon white sugar

* 1tea bag


1. Pour boiling water over Lipton Tea Bag; cover and brew 3 minutes. Remove Tea Bags and squeeze; chill.

2. Process tea, 1 spoon white sugar in blender. one at a time, and process until smooth. Serve immediately.

Strawberry shake


8 ounces strawberries, stemmed and sliced

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pint vanilla ice cream

1/4 cup milk


Blend half of strawberries, 1/4 tsp. vanilla, 1 cup ice cream and 2 Tbsp. milk in blender until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses. Repeat with remaining strawberries, vanilla, ice cream and milk. Serve immediately. Traditional, yummy strawberries shake which is another one of the specialty of Oriental Restaurant Phuket along with the amazing Chinese cuisine.

Sweety Lassi


* 1.5 cups yogurt/curd, chilled

* 7-8 tsp sugar or as required

* ½ cup water or cold milk

* ½ tsp cardamom powder

* 1 pinch saffron (optional)

* 6-7 almonds or shelled pistachios, chopped or sliced (optional)

* 1 tsp rose water (optional)

* ice cubes while serving the lassi


1. take the yogurt, cardamom powder, water and sugar in a blender.

2. you can also blend with a hand blender or use the traditional madani.

3. blend till the yogurt is evenly blended.

4. don’t over do as then you will get butter floating on top.

5. serve lassi in tall glasses.

6. add crushed ice cubes, garnish lassi with some cardamom powder and sliced almonds.

7. Serve the sweet lassi.

8. You can also chill lassi and then serve.

Tomato Juice


* 1 cup chopped hearts of romaine

* 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

* 2 large tomatoes, cut into wedges

* 1/4 fresh jalapeño , stemmed and seeded

* 1 large red bell pepper, cut into eighths

* 2 large stalks celery, trimmed

* 1 medium carrot, peeled

* Ice cubes (optional)


* Working in this order, process lettuce, chives, tomatoes, jalapeño, bell pepper, celery and carrot through a juicer according to the manufacturer’s directions.

* Fill 2 glasses with ice, if desired, and pour the juice into the glasses. Serve immediately.

Vanila Shake


2 cups vanilla ice cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup whole milk


1. In a blender, combine ice cream, milk and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Watermelon Juice


* Approx 4-5 cups of watermelon (seeded and cubed)

* 1-2 cups of water, as required

* sugar/honey/agave nectar to taste

* 2-3 tbsp of fresh lemon juice (I used the juice of one large lemon since I love the taste)

* few mint leaves for garnish

* crushed ice to serve


1. Pulse the watermelon using little water in batches. I used about 1-1/2 cups water only while many sites ask for about 4 cups of water. I like the watermelon taste more and also the fact that it has more water content, I tend to use less of the water. Also adding ice cubes tends to water it more later when it melts.

2. Filter it using a sieve. Add the rest of the ingredients according to taste.

Serve chilled. I use sweet watermelons since it makes it possible to add less sugar and enjoy natural goodness more.
